Dear Sir/Madam
Please do accept our warm greetings.
We, in the EMDHR, are yet very sad once again to learn about the fate of another 450 Eritrean nationals of which 56 are women and about 7 are young children between the age of 2 and 4 who are presently in detention in the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya facing imminent deportation to Eritrea. We have also confirmed that pregnant women are part of this unfortunate crowd.

PRESS RELEASE: ON THE OCCASION OF 18 SEPTEMBER Print E-mail
EMDHR
Written by Communications

Eritrea’s armed struggle for freedom and the dignity of the human person as well as for self-determination was launched by our fathers and forefathers 45 years ago on the 1st of September 1961. Accordingly, in a UN monitored referendum held in the year 1993, we overwhelmingly voted for independence from Ethiopia. We did so, not for the mere fact of becoming an independent nation-state, but also, and most importantly, to ensure that each and every citizen’s basic rights, freedom and dignity were to be safeguarded.
